How a project goes

Four steps. You know what happens before anything is installed.

1. Listen

We walk the house or shop and talk through what is frustrating you now — dead Wi-Fi, lights that do not match, a thermostat nobody can use.

2. Plan

You get a written recommendation: what to keep, what to add, and a clear package and price. Nothing extra is assumed into the job until it is on that page.

3. Set up

I configure the agreed systems and fold them together so scenes and schedules feel simple. Larger electrical or construction work is coordinated with the right trade when it is needed.

4. Hand off

We walk through it together. You leave with short notes for the household or staff, and support during the window in your proposal.

What that usually includes

Systems I recommend

  • Quality whole-home or shop Wi-Fi
  • Ecobee and similar modern thermostats
  • Lutron and Philips Hue lighting
  • Sonos audio
  • Well-supported smart switches, sensors, and plugs
  • Voice control as a convenient extra — not the whole system

What you already own

Most homes are a mix. That is normal. Bring a list of what you have — thermostats, bulbs, speakers, Wi-Fi. During the first session we decide what is worth keeping, what I can fold in, and what is better left on its own app.

Where I focus

I handle design, configuration, and training. Larger electrical or construction work is coordinated with the right trade. The proposal is the place we get specific.

Common questions

Do you run new wire or hang a lot of hardware?

I design the system, configure it, and show you how to use it. If a job needs new circuits or a lot of mounting, I bring in the right trade. I will mount one or two easy-access devices when that is all the job needs.

What if I already have bulbs, a thermostat, or speakers?

Bring a list. Most houses are a mix. We decide what to keep, what to fold in, and what is happier in its own app. Nothing extra is added until it is in the proposal.

Can you work evenings or weekends?

Yes. Weeknights and weekends are available. I aim to reply the same day.

Where do you work?

Madison, Huntsville, and the towns around them: Athens, Decatur, Harvest, Hampton Cove, and nearby. On the edge of that? Ask me.

How do we start?

Send a note or call. We start with what is broken. The written proposal is where scope and price lock in.

Want to talk through a project?

No deposit to inquire. I aim to reply the same day.
